Surf at your own pace
Our surf lessons in the north of Portugal are designed for those who want to learn to surf progressively, without rushing. We work in small groups (maximum 6 students) or privately, adapting each session to the student's level and objectives.
Our approach goes beyond standing on the board. At our surf school in Vila do Conde we teach the rules of surfing, reading the sea and understanding ocean conditions - so that each student develops a more natural connection with the sea.
It doesn't matter if it's your first time at sea or if you've already tried it and want to improve. The pace is yours.

How Surf Lessons Work
We start with a briefing on land - safety rules, reading the conditions and practising the moves. Then we get into the water with constant supervision. Lessons last 3 hours (including gearing up and gearing down). We always go at the best time of day - nature rules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know how to swim?
You should be able to swim minimally and feel comfortable in the sea. Lessons are given with feet, but there may be times without.
From what age?
From the age of 10.
What if there are no conditions?
The weather in the north of Portugal may not help, in which case the customer chooses: a full refund or rebooking for another day.
Can I take lessons without staying?
Yes, all surfing services are available to guests and non-guests.
Is the equipment included?
Yes. Board and wetsuit are included in surf lessons.
How long before you surf alone?
It depends on each person. After 3 to 5 days of lessons, many students are able to take to the foams on their own. Surfing independently requires awareness of the conditions, the currents and the rules of surfing - that's why we always recommend accompaniment for the first steps.
What language are the lessons in?
Group lessons are in English (because we have students of different nationalities). Private lessons can be in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French.
